Framesports & QRU: Powering Analysis of the Hospital Cup
FrameSports has partnered with Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) to bring our analysis platform to the Hospital Cup, giving clubs access to the kind of insight and review tools more commonly seen at the top level of the sport.
A historic competition
The Hospital Cup is one of the most established trophies in Australian club rugby. That tradition is a big part of what makes the competition special, and it is also why consistent review processes matter week-to-week across a long season.
Turning match footage into usable insight
QRU already records and broadcasts matches. We convert that footage into structured analysis teams can apply immediately: clearer opposition insight, team trends over time, and stronger evidence to support selection and tactical decisions.
Built for coaches, players, and analysts
Each club receives secure access to dashboards designed for different roles:
Coaches: clear, high-level summaries that highlight what is working and what needs attention.
Players: individual clips and performance statistics to support development and accountability.
Analysts: downloadable data for deeper work, custom reporting, and trend analysis.
Working closely with stakeholders across QRU
An important part of this partnership is ongoing collaboration. Throughout the season, we regularly speak with and meet stakeholders across the competition, including coaches, analysts, players, and QRU staff. These discussions help ensure the platform continues to reflect the realities of match preparation and review at club level.
Feedback is captured and prioritised into a clear delivery plan, covering both new feature requests and smaller workflow improvements. Whether it is a new dashboard view, an additional export, or a more efficient way to review key moments, the objective is consistent: to keep improving the product based on what teams genuinely want and need.
Turnaround matters
A key metric for us is turnaround time. Analysis is only valuable if it arrives in time to influence the next training session, so our focus is delivering Hospital Cup games quickly and consistently throughout the season. All data is then available through each club’s dedicated FrameSports platform, including AI-enhanced infographics and automated social media outputs.
What’s next
This partnership is an important step for FrameSports in Australia. We look forward to supporting QRU and the clubs competing in the Hospital Cup this season and beyond, while continuing to build tools that help rugby organisations around the world review, develop, and perform more effectively.
