Club history
The students of Loughborough College formed the original side in September 1919.
Loughborough has won the BUCS championship in its various guises on twenty-seven occasions - more than any other British university.
The club has produced 65 men's full international capped players with 17 of those also becoming British and Irish Lions.
Post-war Loughborough produced two future England captains in Eric Evans and Jeff Butterfield.
The World Cup winning England team of 2003 was coached by six Loughborough alumni including Clive Woodward Dave Alred Andy Robinson Dave Reddin Phil Larder and Simon Hardy.
Recent seasons
Finished 4th in National League 2 West in 2023-24 with 83 points.
Loughborough University secured its 44th consecutive overall BUCS title in 2024-25 with the BUCS Super Rugby championship among its trophies.
Head coach Brad Jones targeted a top-half NL2 West finish for the 2024-25 season.
