Club history
Sedgley Park was founded in 1932 at a public meeting held in a temperance bar with its first ground being a farmer's field in Whitefield.
Despite primitive early conditions including a cowshed for changing and a farmyard pump for washing the club had built a clubhouse and fielded three regular teams before World War Two.
The club moved to its present Park Lane site in Whitefield in 1955 after two years of playing all games away following the loss of a previous rented ground.
The Tigers attained National League One status in 2004 representing their sixth promotion since 1987.
Sedgley Park won National League Two North by a runaway 12 points in 2022-23 to return to the third tier.
Recent seasons
Won the 2022-23 National League 2 North title with 118 points from 26 matches finishing 12 points ahead of second-placed Fylde to earn promotion back to National League 1.
Lost 68-7 at home to Rotherham Titans on 18 April 2026 in the result that confirmed their relegation from National League 1 with one game to go.
Their relegation in 2025-26 ended a three-season stay at tier 3 of English rugby.
