Club history
Rosslyn Park was founded in 1879 by Charles Hoyer Millar and cricketing friends in Hampstead north London who wanted to keep playing together through the winter.
The club became the first English side to play rugby internationally when it beat Stade Français in Paris on 18 April 1892.
Around 350 Park members served in the Great War of whom 109 died which is believed to be the highest total from any rugby club.
The club inaugurated the Rosslyn Park Schools Seven Tournament in 1939 which has grown to around 7000 players annually making it the world's largest rugby tournament.
A memorial to the club's 109 World War One dead was finally dedicated at the ground in 2014 after the publication of the 2012 book The Final Whistle.
