Club history
Sale Sharks Women were founded in 2020 as the women's team of Premiership side Sale Sharks.
Sale committed £1 million over three years to launch their women's section as part of the bid.
Their Premier 15s entry was confirmed on 6 April 2020 alongside Exeter Chiefs replacing Waterloo and Richmond.
The team plays home fixtures at Heywood Road in Sale which served as the men's home ground from 1905 to 2003.
World Cup winner Katy Daley-Mclean joined the inaugural squad with Beth Stafford named as first captain.
Recent seasons
Sale Sharks Women finished 8th in the 2024-25 PWR table with four points just above last-placed Leicester Tigers.
Head coach Rachel Taylor and Louise Dalgliesh left the club's coaching setup at the end of the 2024-25 PWR season.
Tom Hudson was appointed as new head coach in February 2025 to prepare for the 2025-26 PWR season.
