Club history

Bristol Football Club was founded in 1888 when Carlton and Redland Park merged to create a single Bristol rugby club.

Pat Lam was appointed head coach in December 2016 and took the club back into the Premiership after the 2017-18 Championship title.

The club was rebranded as Bristol Bears at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Bristol won the European Challenge Cup for the first time in the 2019-20 season.

Bristol topped the Premiership table for the first time in 2020-21 and hosted Harlequins in the semi-final with Steven Luatua as captain.
