Club history

Camborne RFC was established in 1878 and is known locally as Town.

The club was formally established by a group including solicitor's clerk Charles Vivian Thomas and future mayor Charles Carkeek.

Camborne has hosted the New Zealand All Blacks at the Recreation Ground in 1905 1924 and 1953.

In 2006 the club agreed to ground share the Recreation Ground with RFU Championship side Cornish Pirates.

The Recreation Ground underwent a major refurbishment including a new stand for the 2007 to 2008 season.

Recent seasons

Won the National League 2 West title in 2023-24 securing promotion to National League 1.

Were relegated back to NL2 West for the 2024-25 season after one campaign in tier 3.

Finished 2024-25 as runners-up six points behind champions Clifton after losing 46-26 at Clifton on the final day on 5 April 2025.

Entered the four-team National 2 promotion play-off as 2024-25 NL2 West runners-up.
