Club history
Chinnor RFC was formed on Trafalgar Day 21 October 1962 by Frank Angel Cyril Perry and Marcus Cann at The Bird In Hand public house in the Oxfordshire village of Chinnor.
The club won the Oxfordshire Cup in 1976 during its early growth years.
Chinnor was promoted into the national leagues in 2006 - the youngest club ever to do so at the time.
On 13 April 2024 Chinnor beat Birmingham Moseley to secure the National League 1 title with a game to spare earning a first-ever promotion to the Championship.
Recent seasons
Chinnor won the 2023-24 National League 1 title with a 13-point lead and only four losses to reach the Championship.
Chinnor clinched the National One title on 13 April 2024 with a 52-0 away win at Birmingham Moseley.
Nick Easter served as Director of Rugby during the promotion-winning 2023-24 campaign.
Promotion to the 2024-25 RFU Championship was the highest level the Thame-based club had reached in its history.
